Recent visitors to our Golf Course location may have noticed that our store kitty Delilah has had a lot of fur shaved off her neck, belly, and legs.  That's because a few weeks ago she had a large metastatic carcinoma removed from a lymph node in her neck.  We're happy to report that she is doing quite well post-surgery and is back to committing crime and breaking into bags again.  While we don't yet have all the answers about the nature of her cancer and what additional treatments may be necessary, we are optimistic that our beloved princess will kick cancer's ass.

Delilah, store kitty at Boofy's Best for Pets, after surgery

Strong warrior that she is, Delilah has thrown down the HOWL & GROWL HEAD-SHAVING CHALLENGE to raise $2000 for the seven nonprofit participants at HOWL & GROWL 2026. If we receive $2000 in donations by the end of the event (4 pm on Oct. 25th), FIVE brave humans will shave their heads on the spot!  All funds raised in the challenge will be shared among the seven nonprofit groups participating in HOWL & GROWL 2026:

Anonymous but very generous benefactors have agreed to match the first $750 in donations, so we're already off to a great start! How can you donate to the cause? Donations can be made at either Boofy's location prior to the event; at HOWL & GROWL 2026 on Oct. 25th (1-4pm); or online here (mention "head shave"): https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/BoofysBest

Special thanks to our five head-shaving volunteers, who will be relieved of their locks by Hairapy by Mindi if we raise $2000!

  • Shay (representing Tía-Mom's Cocina)
  • Lisa (from Boofy's)
  • Allie (from Pawsitive Life Rescue)
  • Staci (from Boofy's)
  • Robby (from Safe Place Animal Rescue)

Let's make those heads shiny and raise some funds for some great local nonprofit organizations! F#CK CANCER!
